Corporate Sales Specialist (The Business Times)

Job Description

  • Identify key client segments, and craft and execute go-to-market strategies for the corporate sales of digital subscriptions to The Business Times. Work with the product and editorial teams to build compelling value propositions for client needs, and translate these into tailored pitches and campaigns. 
  • Work closely with marketing specialists to design B2B marketing programmes that grow brand awareness and generate demand.
  • Work closely with counterparts for sister publications to The Business Times, to identify sales synergies and dovetail efforts where opportunities arise. 
  • You are responsible for developing and maintaining a sales pipeline that will materialise in accordance with the targets set.
  • Your primary responsibilities involve sales activities such as prospecting from the leads pool; qualification of the leads and pitching; overcoming objections and negotiating; eventually leading to closure. You are also key to maintaining client relationships.   
  • You are also responsible for the fulfilment of the deals - i.e. working with the product and tech teams, where necessary, to deliver subscriptions to the clients in accordance with their use cases. 
  • Post-sales, you will work with the tech and data teams to understand clients’ consumption patterns and behaviours, which will be paramount in informing the overall corporate sales strategy and subsequent renewal negotiations.   

Job Requirements

  • Preferred 6 years of B2B sales experience, with background in marketing and a proven track record
  • Highly driven and proactive, with strong business acumen
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • A collaborative work style with demonstrated successful interactions with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to navigate and lead process changes
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to generate data-informed reports and forecasts is preferred
  • Hands-on experience on performance marketing, customer relationship management and other marketing tools
  • Knowledge in digital marketing will be an advantage
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Administration/Marketing
